Peoria Symphony Guild - Student Concerts
Fourth and fifth graders, home schoolers, and students in gifted/magnet schools or programs are invited as groups to attend Peoria Symphony Orchestra’s 55th annual Student Concerts.
Central Illinois Youth Symphony Presents Spring Small Ensemble Concert
Come hear seven small ensembles from the Central Illinois Youth Symphony organization perform, including the Brass Ensemble, Percussion Ensemble, Flute Choir, Clarinet Choir, Woodwind Quintet, Brass Quintet and String Quintet.
Central Illinois Youth Symphony Spring Orchestral Concert
All four orchestras from the Central Illinois Youth Symphony organization will perform, including the Cadet Orchestra, Prep Orchestra, Concert Orchestra and Youth Symphony, which will feature the Senior Solo Winner.
The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. in the Chapel at Three Sisters Park in Chillicothe, IL. Sit back and enjoy a fine blend of favorite folk music, storytelling, and a unique brand of humor that has made Mike Anderson one of the most sought-after folk artists in the nation today.

Mountain Dulcimer Class With Instructor Mike Anderson
Join instructor Mike Anderson for an extended weekend DULCIMER CLASS. Check in Friday, February 26, at 6:30 p.m. in the Three Sisters Park pavilion. Class begins at 7:00-9:00 p.m. Friday evening, and continues Saturday, February 27, from 9:00 a.m. to 3 p.m. Class finishes Sunday, February 28, from 10:00 a.m. to noon with an open stage performance.
Mike Anderson, instructor Discover how to play melodies high and low on the fingerboard, and how to simplify or complicate any melody in this weekend workshop. Time will be spent on strumming, flat picking, fingerpicking, fingerings and chords. This class is intended for students who already have some experience and can tune and strum a mountain dulcimer. Students are required to bring their own instruments.
Registered students receive one free admission to the Saturday night concert, plus continental breakfast and lunch on both Saturday and Sunday.
Peoria Area World Affairs Council Membership

A non-partisan, not-for-profit organization, the World Affairs Council welcomes all people who are interested in learning more about the world and how it affects us.
